Dr. Sarah Gibney grew up in her parents’ veterinary clinic in Vineland, NJ. She always knew that she wanted to pursue medicine, and she loved the variety of species (they saw exotics in addition to cats and dogs) and cases her parents saw, but it was seeing the bonds that her parents formed with their patients and clients that solidified her decision to pursue veterinary general practice. Dr. Gibney attended Michigan State University for undergrad, where she found an unexpected love for the Midwest. She then earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from The Ohio State University. Parkersburg Veterinary Hospital welcomed Dr. Gibney to the team in July 2025. Her professional interests include internal medicine, surgery, dentistry, and behavior. In the future, she hopes to broaden the scope of her practice to include exotic species. Outside of work, Dr. Gibney is still exploring the area (recommendations happily accepted!), is passionate about the environment/sustainability, and is learning to do more handicrafts. She currently has 1 geriatric pit bull (Finnick), but is working hard to convince her husband that they need more pets.
